Founded in 1753, this is the world's oldest museum. Two
and a half miles of galleries display the national collection of antiquities,
prints and drawings. The Museum departments are: Greek and Roman,
Egyptian, Prehistory and Early Europe, Ancient Near East, Oriental,
Japanese, Coins and Medals, Medieval and Modern Europe, Prints and
Drawings and Ethnography. Among the famous exhibits are the Parthenon
Sculptures, Lindow Man, the Rosetta Stone, and Egyptian Mummies.

Madame Tussaud inherited her world-famous waxwork exhibition in 1794.
A star studded cast of sportsmen, world leaders and movie actors will
make a visit to London's premier attraction a real winner. Mingle
with the stars and meet the likes of Kate Winslet and Robert Carlyle
in 'Superstars and Legends'. Our new infamous Chamber of Horrors is
sure to give you a fright. Dare you enter? As a finale to Madame Tussaud's

A neo-classical building
opened in 1838. All the great periods of European paintings
are represented here although only a selection of British works
are included. Particular treasures include Van Eyck's Arnolfini
Marriage, Van Gogh's Sunflowers and Constable's Haywain. The
Sainsbury Wing houses the early Renaissance works from 1260-1510.
The West Wing painting from 1510-1600, the North Wing painting
from 1600-1700 and the East Wing painting from 1700-1900. There
are exhibitions throughout the year.
